NEMEON CEO Dave O'Donnell Announces Retirement
The search for a successor is on after 16 years leading the cooperative of independent roofing suppliers.

NEMEON announced President and CEO Dave O'Donnell will retire following a planned leadership transition. In conjunction with this announcement, NEMEON's Board of Directors has initiated a search for the organization's next CEO.
Over the past 16 years, O'Donnell has provided steady leadership and strategic direction to NEMEON, guiding the cooperative through significant growth and strengthening its role as a trusted partner to independent roofing and siding distributors across the United States and Canada. His tenure reflects more than three decades of experience in the building materials industry, spanning manufacturing, distribution, and cooperative management.
Before joining NEMEON in 2010, he held leadership positions with GAF Materials Corporation and ABCO Wholesale Distributors. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable experience in pharmaceutical and international transportation sales. This diverse background has given him a broad market perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing independent distributors.
Under O'Donnell’s leadership, NEMEON has evolved into one of the industry's leading purchasing and services cooperatives, representing 104 independent distributor members operating 323 locations across North America. During his tenure, the cooperative expanded its offerings in purchasing programs, management services, marketing support, information systems, strategic planning, and other value-added services designed to help member owners strengthen their competitive advantage in an increasingly complex marketplace.
“Dave’s leadership has left a lasting mark on NEMEON and the independent distributors we serve,” said the NEMEON board of directors in a statement. "His unwavering commitment to the cooperative model, his advocacy for independent businesses, and his focus on delivering long-term value have positioned NEMEON for continued success. We are deeply grateful for his service and the strong foundation he has built."
Reflecting on his time with the organization, Dave expressed appreciation for the members, vendor partners, board leaders, and staff who have helped shape NEMEON's success.
"It has been an honor to serve this cooperative and work alongside so many dedicated members, business partners, directors, and employees," said O'Donnell. "Together, we have strengthened NEMEON's role in the marketplace while remaining true to our mission of supporting independent distributors. I am confident the organization is well-positioned for continued growth and success in the years ahead."
O'Donnell will continue to serve in his current role throughout the transition period, ensuring organizational continuity and supporting a smooth transfer of leadership responsibilities. The Board has begun a comprehensive search process to identify a successor who will build on NEMEON’s strong foundation and lead the cooperative into its next chapter of growth and services. Further details regarding the CEO search process will be communicated to members and stakeholders as they become available.
