Amrize has completed a $1 million modernization of its manufacturing facility in Norcross, Ga., expanding production and research capabilities for sealant tapes and coatings used in metal construction, aerospace and composite applications.

The company marked the completion of the project July 28 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Amrize leaders, employees and community representatives, including Peachtree Corners Mayor Mike Mason and Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett President and CEO Nick Masino.

Completed over the past year, the modernization included renovations to the production floor, upgrades to manufacturing technology and a remodeled quality assurance laboratory. The investment also added new research equipment and production-monitoring systems designed to give employees greater visibility into manufacturing performance.

Amrize also established a sealant tape Research & Development Center of Excellence at the Norcross facility. The dedicated center will support product development for the company’s Tacky Tape and GacoSeal product lines.

Tacky Tape products are used in aerospace and composite applications, while GacoSeal tapes and sealants serve the metal building construction market.

“This milestone investment allows us to pioneer next-generation composite tapes for the rapidly expanding aerospace and satellite sectors,” said Konrad Wernthaler, president of Gaco and Enverge. “By pushing the boundaries of what is possible in these high-tech markets, we are not only advancing the industry but also acting as a powerful catalyst for regional economic growth.”

According to Amrize, the improvements are expected to streamline manufacturing, strengthen process controls and increase the facility’s quality assurance capabilities. The upgrades are also intended to help the Norcross team respond more quickly to changing customer needs while maintaining consistent product performance.

“We are thrilled to deploy new technologies to boost our manufacturing efficiency and seed innovation through a new sealant tape R&D Center of Excellence,” said Kevin Page, vice president of commercial for Gaco and Enverge.

Page said the upgrades will support the Tacky Tape brand’s growth in aerospace and composite markets while reinforcing Amrize’s commitment to GacoSeal products for metal building construction.

Plant Manager Zouhir Adlani said the investment is already improving operations on the production floor.

“By leveraging enhanced, data-driven insights, our team is now better positioned to anticipate and meet our customers’ evolving demands,” Adlani said.

The Norcross project is part of Amrize’s broader effort to expand its manufacturing and innovation capabilities in advanced construction and industrial markets.
