GAF Launches ‘Roof of the Year’ Contest for Certified Contractors
GAF’s contest recognizes certified contractors for standout residential roofing projects nationwide

GAF announced the launch of its 2026 GAF Roof of the Year contest, a national program recognizing outstanding residential roofing projects completed by GAF-certified contractors.
Submissions are open from July 1 through Oct. 16, 2026. The contest includes five categories: Best Use of Premium Products, Most Challenging Roof, Helping Others in the Community, The Gold Standard and Best Metal Roof.
One grand-prize-winning contractor and four runners-up will be selected in each category. Grand-prize contractors will receive $10,000 in co-branded paid media support from GAF to promote their businesses locally. Homeowners connected to grand-prize-winning projects will receive $10,000, while homeowners tied to runner-up projects will receive $1,000.
Winning contractors and runners-up will also receive digital badges and be featured in case studies on GAF.com.
“Exceptional roofing projects represent more than technical skill, they reflect the pride, professionalism, and dedication contractors bring to every job,” said Jim Durkin, chief customer experience officer at GAF.
The contest is open to eligible GAF-certified contractors in the U.S. and Washington, D.C., excluding California, Maryland, North Dakota and Tennessee. Entries must feature residential roofing projects installed between Jan. 1 and Oct. 16, 2026. Voting is scheduled for Nov. 1-30, 2026.
