SolaTrim Launches SolEmber Wildfire Solar Guard

New ember-resistant mesh system protects solar arrays from debris and ignition risks while meeting wildfire building codes

SolaTrim has introduced SolEmber, a solar array protection system designed to reduce wildfire risk by blocking ember intrusion beneath rooftop panels. Ember ignition is a primary cause of structure loss during wildfires, often occurring ahead of advancing flames.

The system uses a stainless steel mesh barrier to prevent embers, vegetation and animal debris from accumulating under solar arrays—areas that can act as ignition points. It is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a black powder-coated finish for durability and low visibility.

SolEmber meets wildfire construction requirements, including WUI and IWUI standards, ASTM E2886 testing and Class A fire ratings, making it suitable for use in fire-prone regions.

Designed for both new construction and retrofit applications, the system installs quickly while maintaining airflow around solar panels to support performance.

The product expands SolaTrim’s solar protection offerings, addressing increased demand for fire-resistant building solutions as wildfire risks grow in many regions.
