Polyglass Earns Fire Rating for Roofing System
Class A low-slope system gains CAL FIRE approval, expanding fire-rated roofing options for wildfire-prone areas and supporting code compliance and insurance eligibility.

Polyglass USA has received CAL FIRE Building Materials Listing approval for a Class A fire-rated low-slope modified bitumen roofing system, marking the first complete system of its kind listed by the agency.
The approval confirms compliance with California Building Code Chapter 7A and wildfire performance standards under ASTM E108 and UL 790, supporting use in wildfire-prone regions.
The system includes multiple components such as base sheets, optional insulation and self-adhered membranes designed to enhance fire resistance and durability in commercial applications.
Polyglass also introduced its patented Burn Shield technology for steep-slope underlayments. The technology is designed to slow flame spread and is used in Polystick XFR and Polyanchor XFR underlayments, which meet California Wildland-Urban Interface requirements.
The products are intended for residential and commercial roofing projects in high-risk fire zones. The company said installations may help property owners qualify for insurance incentives under California’s Safer from Wildfires program.
The combined system and underlayments are designed to improve fire performance while supporting code compliance and permitting processes.
