The Single-Ply Roofing Industry (SPRI) hosted its 44th Annual Conference and Business Meeting Feb. 13–15 at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Ariz., bringing members and industry partners together for technical collaboration, professional development, and networking.
The event opened with SPRI’s annual meeting, followed by Technical Task Force sessions and a Technical Committee meeting focused on initiatives and standards-related discussions. SPRI also recognized industry participation during its annual awards presentation, including the President’s Service Award to Scott Carpenter and Member Appreciation Awards to Stephen Childs and Jim Kirby.
Educational programming included sessions on attention management and productivity, an industry and labor market update, and a Washington policy briefing covering issues such as tax treatment of roofing, workforce legislation, immigration, tariffs and regulatory priorities. Attendees also heard a construction outlook addressing economic pressures and planning indicators.
Community activities included a give-back event in which volunteers assembled about 700 snack packs for local students and SPRI provided about $7,500 in food donations. SPRI’s next quarterly meeting is scheduled for April 28–30 in Chicago.
