CertainTeed Doubles Georgia Shingle Capacity
The ribbon cutting marks major plant expansion aimed at meeting Southeast housing demand.

Saint-Gobain subsidiary CertainTeed Roofing marked the completion of a more than $100 million expansion at its manufacturing plant in Peachtree City, Ga., doubling the facility’s production capacity.
The project, first announced in 2022, is expected to increase the supply of roofing shingles across the fast-growing Southeast, where housing demand continues to rise. State and local officials said the project received more than $5 million in tax incentives over the next decade.
“Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony in Peachtree City shows the continued growth of our business in Georgia,” said Mark Rayfield, president and CEO of Saint-Gobain North America. He noted the company has invested more than $500 million in Georgia since 2018 and employs more than 600 people in the state.
Gov. Brian Kemp, who attended the event, said the expansion reflects Georgia’s business climate and partnerships with manufacturers. “This expansion is further proof that our approach is delivering results for hardworking Georgians statewide,” Kemp said.
The Peachtree City plant, which opened in 1976, is one of 10 Saint-Gobain facilities in Georgia. The company manufactures roofing, siding, insulation and other building materials in the state.
Company officials said the added capacity will help meet projected housing demand. Some estimates show the U.S. will need 4 million additional homes by 2030, including more than 365,000 in Georgia.
The expansion is part of Saint-Gobain's broader investments in North America, including recent projects at gypsum facilities in Florida and Quebec, as well as additional roofing-related facilities under development in North Carolina and Texas.
