Polyglass U.S.A. Inc. announces the launch of Polystrip SA, a new non-reinforced, self-adhered roof deck joint tape designed to seal wood deck seams and help roofing contractors meet the latest building code requirements.

Polystrip SA provides a water-tight seal to roof deck joints, delivering a secondary water barrier against moisture infiltration caused by wind-driven rain, ice dams, and other severe weather when the roof covering or underlayment may be compromised.

Developed to meet the growing demand for code-compliant, easy-to-install solutions, Polystrip SA provides roofing professionals with a way to protect structures from harsh weather conditions.

Engineered for Performance and Simplicity

Polystrip SA is composed of a UV and slip-resistant film laminated to an aggressive elastomeric SBS-modified asphalt self-adhesive compound and release paper that allows for safer, faster installation. The tape conforms to uneven joints and transitions, maintaining a flat profile and tight seal, even around nails and fasteners.

  • UV-resistant for up to 60 days
  • Temperature-stable up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Compatible with Polystick and Polyanchor underlayments
  • Doubles as a general flashing membrane

By sealing the deck seams, Polystrip SA helps maintain the structural integrity of the roof system and protect against damaging and expensive water intrusion into the attic and building interior.

System-Ready and Code-Driven

Whether contractors are working in high-wind coastal regions or cold climates prone to ice dams, Polystrip SA adds critical protection that meets today’s toughest building code requirements.

The product is UL Classified and compliant with:

  • ASTM D1970
  • Florida Building Code
  • Connecticut Building Code
  • Other states adopting the 2021 IBC (International Building Code)

Polystrip SA is also compliant with the FORTIFIED Roof standard, developed by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety, offering contractors and homeowners a trusted option for resilient, storm-ready construction that exceeds traditional code requirements.

Versatile Compatibility with Polyglass Underlayments

Polystrip SA is compatible with a wide range of Polyglass roofing underlayments and anchor sheets, allowing contractors to build tailored, code-compliant systems. Examples include:

  • Ice and Water Protection: Pair with Polystick IR-Xe and/or Polystick P
  • High Wind Resistance: Pair with Polyanchor HV
