GAF Hosts Its Largest Hiring Event in L.A.
Manufacturer held largest job training and hiring event ever for GAF Roofing Academy in Los Angeles, partnering with local contractors and suppliers alike

GAF, one of North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturers, recently hosted what it described as its largest job training and hiring event ever in the Los Angeles Area last week through its GAF Roofing Academy.
The company’s national, tuition-free job training program was hosted throughout Southern California, from Gardena, just east of Manhattan Beach, south to Santa Ana, Orange, and Irvine, all in Orange County.
According to a Nov. 20 news release, GAF held its training sessions and recruitment efforts in collaboration with local contractors and roofing businesses, Beacon Building Products, ABC Supply, Celoseal Roofing, and Antis Roofing.
More than 60 residents attended the multiple trainings throughout the week, and approximately half are being placed or will be placed in jobs as a result of participating in the program, GAF said, adding that attendees learned residential and steep-slope roofing training, commercial/low-slope roofing training, or roofing sales training.
Attendees could also participate in a job fair at the end of the week and have the chance to meet with local contractors and businesses for immediate, full-time employment opportunities.
GAF Roofing Academy is a free national training program that combines in-classroom and hands-on training. The course is open to anyone — no previous construction experience is required. Since 2020, more than 3,400 individuals have been trained through GAF Roofing Academy, and 2,000 have been placed into jobs.
