The International Roofing Expo returns to Las Vegas Feb. 6-8, 2024, and Roofing Contractor offers readers a sneak peek into what’s in store for attendees returning to the "Entertainment Capital of the World."

It’s Showtime!

The IRE is back in Las Vegas for the first time since 2021, and it is gearing up to be the industry’s largest event yet. The three-day experience includes more than 180,000 square feet of exhibit space shared by more than 600 companies with the latest products and services in the marketplace.

In addition to the show floor, attendees can choose from eight educational tracks covering dozens of critical topics impacting roofers nationwide, including more than 100 sessions on everything from running a successful enterprise to technical aspects of roof installation.

Each is geared to provide critical insight, spark conversation and offer training on the challenges and opportunities in roofing’s ever-changing landscape.

"The International Roofing Expo serves as the meeting place to not only discover new products and materials to grow individual skill sets and knowledge, but also to build connections that inspire and unite the growing sector," said Show Director Rich Russo of Informa Markets, which produces the event. "Through the multitude of specialized conferences and training dedicated to all groups that power the field, our community can learn from one another and gain new perspectives that ultimately drive business forward together."

The show floor will again feature dedicated space for product demonstrations at designated exhibit booths and the Technology Pavilion, Metal Marketplace and Exterior Pavilion.

More than 14,000 people headed to Dallas for the 2023 International Roofing Expo, with 2024 expected to break that record.

IRE Recycling Update: Rinse and Repeat

Organizers of the IRE 2024 are continuing a commitment to executing an environmentally-friendly experience for attendees and the host city. The official Sustainability Program – which the Informa Markets FasterForward Program outlines – strives to identify, understand and address the environmental impact of every show it produces to reduce its carbon footprint.

Some of the new environmental practices implemented in 2023 that will return:

  • Developed printed materials that can be reused or recycled for annual use.
  • Made the expo hall floor plan and agenda available on the show floor via the mobile app and implemented digital wayfinding to reduce printed materials.
  • Using Terracycle recycling bins for attendees and exhibitors to recycle their badges and lanyards.
  • Replacing single-use water bottles by giving staff and speakers reusable water bottles.
  • Employing digital signage to replace traditionally printed signage where possible.

Here’s how the host, Las Vegas Convention Center, plans to help:

  • Offer plant-based food and biodegradable cutlery options
  • Using eco-friendly cleaning products
  • Maximize show floor materials recycling efforts, including carpets, cables, etc.
  • Connect vendors and building clients with local community groups, charitable organizations and others about local social responsibility initiatives.
