Last week, a construction worker was killed on Long Island, N.Y., after the roof he was working on collapsed, trapping the man for hours before he was extricated, according to CBS television in New York.
The victim, a 49-year-old male, identified as Donaldo Duque, was on scaffolding 30 feet off the ground as he erected a roof for a new building at the Jericho Water District Facility in Woodbury, a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, about 40 miles northeast of New York City, police said. The incident happened on Aug. 3.
