Severe storms that swept through several southern states earlier in June were particularly punishing to the rural Texas Panhandle town of Perryton — population 8,492 — when a reported EF3 tornado touched the earth and left a path of death and destruction.
According to reports, three people died, and more than 100 were injured as the twister scarred the earth. An EF3 tornado has sustained winds of between 136-165 m.p.h.
