Green Bay Roofing Contractors Facing $140K-plus in Fines
Proposed penalties come after OSHA says companies flouted safety concerns
The U.S. Department of Labor announced on March 28 that a large roofing general contractor in Appleton, Wis., Security-Luebke Roofing Inc., as well as a subcontractor, JJ Roofing, in the nearby town of Kaukauna, have been cited for repeatedly failing to protect their employees from deadly fall hazards.
As first reported by Green Bay, Wis. Fox affiliate, WLUK, in October 2022, an inspector with the department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration observed at least nine JJ Roofing workers exposed to fall hazards without adequate fall protection. Representatives of Security-Luebke were allegedly on the site while the employees were at risk, according to OSHA.
