Each fall for more than a decade, Roofing Contractor has brought together the best and brightest minds the roofing industry has to offer with other roofing contractors and professionals from around the country eager to learn. The 2018 Best of Success conference, Sept. 24-25, in Frisco, Texas, won’t be any different in that regard.
What will be new and different this year is the type of venue hosting the two-day experience designed to help roofing contractors improve their businesses. RC Publisher Jill Bloom, who launched Best of Success 14 years ago, said she and the team developed the program for this year’s event with the overall attendee experience in mind.

In addition to the usual collection of nationally recognized experts and roofing industry leaders that speak from the Best of Success stage, Bloom said attendees will be able to learn and draw inspiration from being in the midst of one of the most successful businesses in professional sports.
The Omni Frisco Hotel sits adjacent to The Star, a massive, mixed-use development that’s anchored by the headquarters of the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys.
“The Star is a truly amazing place to see and experience for football fans and non-fans alike,” said Bloom, who first toured the site by rooftop in May 2017 while roof systems were still being installed by Dallas’ KPost Roofing & Waterproofing — RC’s 2017 Commercial Contractor of the Year.
Football Frenzy
Located in Frisco, just 25 minutes from the Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field, the Omni is easily accessible for roofing contractors coming from any state looking for an unrivaled peer-to-peer experience in roofing.
Though the conference is happening at its typical time in the fall, the announcement for Best of Success 2018 was delayed due to the release of the NFL’s schedule in late April. The Omni acts as the home for the Cowboys when they host opponents at AT&T Stadium. As such, Best of Success 2018 attendees will get a first-hand look at The Star, the 91-acre campus that includes the Cowboys executive offices, the Ford Center indoor athletic facility, and an entertainment district with shops and a variety of restaurants.
“We’re really excited to be in Dallas and to offer this very unique experience for roofing contractors with Best of Success 2018,” Bloom said. “They’ll be able to learn from the best in the business in an environment that projects success and represents one of most recognizable and valuable brands in all of sports.”
And did we mention the football? Fall means football time across America, but the sport is revered in Texas, and especially in and around Dallas — largely due to the Cowboys’ success over the years. With the young NFL season just getting underway when roofing contractors converge on The Star, there’s no better place to experience the love for the game.
The Omni will show live broadcasts of the Cowboys game vs. the Seattle Seahawks on the large screen televisions outside the Ford Center on Sept. 23.
Not a Cowboys fan? Not a problem. Officials said the Omni will also show that night’s contest between the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions, as well as Monday night’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both will be fun and entertaining backdrops for the two social and networking events on the conference agenda.
A Winning Tradition
Each year at Best of Success, RC also honors the residential and commercial roofing contractors that employ industry best practices, take care of their employees, and excel at quality workmanship and customer satisfaction with the Contractor of the Year Award.
RC Editorial Director Rick Damato and Editor Art Aisner will deliver the awards again at the end of day one of the conference learning sessions on Sept. 24 before the hundreds of roofing contractors and industry professionals. This year, RC received 140 nominations from commercial, residential and industrial roofing contractors representing all regions of the United States.
