The Garland Co. recently celebrated the opening of its new Soliday Center training facility.

CLEVELAND - The Garland Co. recently celebrated the opening of its new Soliday Center training facility. According to Scott Craft, director of recruiting and training for Garland, "The new center includes state-of-the-art audio and video equipment and a new application lab, allowing our sales representatives, contractors, and other members of the Garland team new opportunities for classroom and hands-on learning. With this new facility, Garland can continue to aspire to ever-higher levels of training." The center is named in honor of Elmer Soliday, one of the seven men who helped revitalize the new Garland in 1974. Prior to his death in 2001, Soliday had been with the company 27 years, most recently as its director of training. According to the company's director of engineering, Mike Huber, Garland currently employs 88 people at its Cleveland location. Garland recently accepted a NorthCoast 99 award as one of Northeast Ohio's best places to work. Garland has received the honor for six consecutive years. NorthCoast 99 is sponsored by the Employment Resource Council (ERC), which is Northeast Ohio's largest employers' association, serving over 900 organizations representing nearly 400,000 employees.
