METALCON 2026 Spotlights Metal Roofing’s Future
METALCON 2026 highlights metal roofing innovation, installation technology and contractor opportunities

METALCON 2026 celebrated its 35th anniversary Oct. 7-9 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., bringing contractors, manufacturers, architects and other construction professionals together for three days focused on the future of metal construction.
For roofing contractors, the annual event provided a concentrated look at the products, equipment and installation practices shaping the growing metal roofing market. More than 250 exhibitors were promoted for this year’s show, covering everything from metal panels and roll-forming equipment to coatings, tools, fastening systems and manufacturing technology.
Metal Roofing Takes the Stage
Metal roofing remained one of METALCON’s biggest draws. Contractors could see equipment operating on the show floor, talk directly with manufacturers and compare systems designed to improve installation speed, consistency and productivity. Roofing Contractor was in attendance.
The show also reflected how technology is changing the metal roofing business. Automated equipment, estimating and design tools, fabrication technology and improved jobsite equipment are giving contractors new ways to address one of construction’s most persistent challenges: finding enough skilled workers to meet demand.
METALCON’s educational program expanded beyond products. Five learning centers offered sessions addressing installation techniques, metal performance, technology and business development. Hands-on demonstrations gave contractors opportunities to see installation methods and equipment in action rather than simply viewing products in a booth.
Building the Next Generation
Workforce development was another recurring theme. The 2026 show included a Latino Track with Spanish-language educational sessions and demonstrations, broadening access to technical training for an increasingly important part of the construction workforce.
METALCON also used its 35th anniversary to recognize the people and companies that have helped advance metal construction while looking toward the industry’s next generation through its inaugural 40 Under 40 program.
For roofing contractors considering adding metal to their businesses or expanding existing operations, the show demonstrated how quickly the market continues to evolve. New equipment and technology can help contractors fabricate more efficiently, improve installation quality and pursue increasingly sophisticated projects.
METALCON returns Oct. 26-28, 2027, at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.
