Copper Development Association Launches Advocacy Network
New Copper Advocates program will provide policy updates and opportunities for industry stakeholders to engage with policymakers
The Copper Development Association has launched Copper Advocates, a nationwide network designed to connect individuals, companies and organizations interested in policies affecting copper, manufacturing and infrastructure.
The nonpartisan program is free to join and will provide participants with updates on policy developments, industry issues and copper's economic impact. Members may also choose to participate in advocacy efforts such as signing letters, contacting elected officials or sharing industry perspectives with policymakers.
"Becoming a Copper Advocate gives people and organizations a straightforward way to stay informed and lend their voice when it matters," said Adam Estelle, president and CEO of the Copper Development Association.
According to CDA, the U.S. copper industry generates about $254 billion in annual economic output, supports more than 576,000 jobs and contributes $22.9 billion annually in federal, state and local tax revenue.
For roofing contractors, copper remains an important material in architectural roofing, flashing, gutters and other exterior building applications, making policy and supply-chain developments affecting the metal relevant to specialty contractors and manufacturers.
