The Home Depot to Launch Real-Time Tracking for Pro Deliveries
Tool aims to improve job-site delivery timing

The Home Depot said it plans to launch a real-time delivery tracking tool for large building materials by the end of the first quarter, aimed at helping professional contractors better manage job-site schedules.
The feature will be available on the company’s mobile app and website and will provide minute-by-minute updates on deliveries, including the truck’s route and remaining stops. Customers will be able to see when materials such as drywall, lumber and concrete are expected to arrive.
The tracking system is powered by a driver handheld application that transmits GPS data from delivery trucks, allowing customers to view the vehicle’s location on a live map and monitor the progress of their orders.

“Last-mile logistics for large, flatbed deliveries have been a persistent blind spot for retailers delivering building materials to Pros,” said Dee Walk, senior vice president of enterprise delivery experience. “With the new real-time delivery tracker, we’re pleased to pioneer a new level of transparency with technology that will give our Pro customers peace of mind.”
Home Depot said real-time tracking is already available for customers ordering large appliances. The expanded tracking for bulky building materials is expected to roll out to professional customers by the end of the first quarter.
