SolarEdge Technologies Inc. has begun full production and shipment of its U.S.–made Home Battery at a new factory in Salt Lake City, the company announced on Thursday.
The “USA Edition” battery started rolling off the line in the first quarter as SolarEdge seeks to bolster its domestic supply chain and support U.S. energy independence.
The Utah facility is SolarEdge’s third U.S. manufacturing site, joining factories in Florida and Texas. Together, the three plants will employ more than 2,000 workers and produce the company’s residential inverters, power optimizers and home batteries.
SolarEdge stated that the move responds to the growing demand for American-made energy storage, helping customers meet domestic content requirements.
“Building this facility right here in Utah reflects our commitment to reliable, high-quality technology and supply-chain stability,” said Marty Rogers, SolarEdge’s general manager. He noted that U.S. energy tax credits played a key role in enabling the onshore expansion.
The SolarEdge Home Battery integrates with the company’s inverters and optimizers, carrying a dedicated SKU for simplified tracking. The product is designed to qualify for incentive programs and support peak-rate savings in solar-plus-storage systems.
U.S. Rep. Celeste Maloy, R-Utah, praised the factory as evidence of American manufacturing’s comeback. “It’s time to build again in America,” she said.
