Hiring and outsourcing specialists, Delegate CX (DCX), have launched an innovative new approach to helping roofing companies quickly ramp up entry-level talent.
Following DCX’s debut in roofing at the International Roofing Expo last February, the company has launched the DCX Roofing Academy — an initiative designed to equip entry-level team members with the industry-specific knowledge they need to hit the ground running.
Developed to address the ongoing shortage of well-trained and affordable entry-level talent in the roofing sector, the DCX Roofing Academy prepares outsourced team members such as Customer Service Representatives, Sales Assistants, and Production Assistants for their client roles.
“Without training, it can take a long time for new entry-level hires to truly understand the roofing industry, what with the specific terminology we use and the complex supplier and contractor relationships that exist,” explained Brenda Jordan, DCX vice president of Sales for Roofing.
“To bridge that gap, we’ve brought together experts from the roofing industry and our own Talent and L&D Teams to create an Academy that not only turns our top global talent into valued roofing team members but also gives them the confidence to contribute from day one,” she added.
DCX’s Roofing Academy lasts one month and provides practical, hands-on training in areas like cost estimation, material selection, compliance, and best practices across the roofing project lifecycle.
The first cohort of Roofing Academy students began on May 6 and will graduate in June, equipped with the industry knowledge needed to support roofing companies immediately.
“We’ve been running industry-specific academies since 2022,” explains Rory Young, chief revenue officer for DCX. “We hear all the time from clients about how much of a difference this foundational, industry-level training makes — some of our first graduates are still working for and continuing to grow with their clients today.”
The company said launching the Roofing Academy marks an important milestone in DCX’s continued investment in the roofing industry.
“We took a close look at where our top talent and unique approach to hiring could really make a difference,” Young explained.
“We know that well-trained, engaged, and affordable team members can unlock real growth for US roofing companies,” he added. “That’s why we’re committed to investing in this industry, in our team, and in expert training to help roofing businesses grow in a less stressful, more sustainable way.”
