An ongoing poll on the Roofing Contractor Network on LinkedIn asks respondents to estimate the percentage of contractors who operate with a high level of integrity when doing storm remediation work.

The Question:

In your opinion, what percentage of contractors across the US operate with a high level of integrity, honesty and professionalism when restoring homeowners’ & business owners’ storm damaged property?

Poll Results:

• 75% and above: 20%
• 50% to 75%: 13%
• 25% to 50%: 33%
• 10% to 25%: 23%
• Less than 10%: 10%

The most popular response was response the 25-50 percent range, with exactly one-third of respondents choosing that answer. If you combine the top two and bottom two totals, they both equal one-third as well.

That is, a third believe 50 percent or more of storm remediation companies operate with integrity, a third believe 25-50 percent of them do, and a third believes less that 25 percent operate with integrity.

Any way you slice it, that’s a pretty low curve. Make sure you can prove to the owners of storm-damaged homes and buildings that you operate with integrity and will be there to stand behind your work.
