ABC Supply Co., Inc. reaffirmed its commitment to U.S. Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans by signing a statement of support for “Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve,” a Department of Defense program that promotes cooperation between civilian employers and their military-member employees.

The Statement of Support proclaims:

• Employment will not be denied because of service in the Guard or Reserve.
• Job and career opportunities will not be limited or reduced because of service in the Guard or Reserve.
• Employees will be granted leaves of absence for military service in the Guard or Reserve, consistent with existing laws, without sacrificing vacation.
• This policy will be adopted throughout the entire organization.

In an August 28 news release, ABC Supply acknowledged that balancing a civilian career with the demands of military service can be a challenge for National Guard and Reserve members. 

Since 2017, ABC Supply has hired more than 2,800 veterans and service members. This commitment adds to the company’s existing partnerships with organizations that support Veterans, including Military.com, RecruitMilitary, Army Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) and Homes for Our Troops.

By signing the Statement of Support, ABC Supply pledges to:

• Fully recognize, honor and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
• Provide its managers and supervisors with the tools they need to manage employees in the Guard and Reserve effectively.
• Appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.
• Continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, crises, and war.
