Environmentally-conscious roofing consultants and contractors can do their part to improve air quality by incorporating SOPREMA’s ECO3 granule surfaced membrane for low-slope roofing.

SOPREMA teamed up with 3M to create a roofing granule inspired by the power of trees. A specialized photo catalytic coating on the granules is activated by the sun’s UV rays. As sunlight hits the granules, the coating absorbs nitrogen oxide gases found in smog and accelerates the oxidation process. This creates safe, water-soluble ions that wash away with dew or rainwater, drastically reducing ground level pollution.
