ORLANDO, Fla. - New Jersey-based GAF, a roofing manufacturer and subsidiary of Standard Industries, received the Builder Partnerships Partner of the Year award for demonstrating excellence in supporting Builder Partnerships builder members and their overall base of builder customers. The award was presented during Builder Partnerships' 12th Annual Networking Reception during the International Builders' Show, 
 
Charles C. Shinn Jr., Ph.D., founder and principal of Builder Partnerships, said the organization was excited to present to 2nd Annual Partner of the Year Award to GAF.
 
"We are fortunate to have an elite group of manufacturers and builders in our network, which always makes the selection of one winner a tough one," Shinn said. "GAF has been a member since 2014; they have done a great job reaching out to our builder members and the pace of engagement continues to increase.
 
"Our team and our builders have been impressed with the support GAF offers to builders before, during, and after the sale of their product," Shinn noted.  "We look forward to continuing to help GAF develop and grow relationships with more of our builder members in 2017 and beyond."
 
Builder Partnerships was started because builders need the support manufacturers have to offer, but few builders even know it is available. Builder Partnerships membership has grown to more than 750 builders and 50 manufacturers representing 65 brands. 
 
In 2016, GAF distinguished itself through the increasing engagement of its sales team throughout the year, said Stephen Crouch, Builder Partnerships vice president of operations. 
 
"GAF has begun to put all of the pieces together to support the home building industry," Crouch said. "They have a great-looking range of shingles, a quality roofing system, and the product and installation warranty that provides the builder and the homeowner with peace of mind. 
 
"On top of this, GAF has built a quality sales organization and motivated them to get its message in front of home builders," Crouch said. "We were able to introduce GAF to hundreds of our builder members in 2016, and it was rare for a builder not to express interest in meeting with them."  

Builder Partnerships also recognized Goodman Manufacturing as the first winner of the Partner of the Year award in 2015. Goodman Manufacturing continues to be leader in the level of support offered to builders in 2016.
