ALLENTOWN, Pa. - ATAS International Inc., a manufacturer of metal roofing, and wall and ceiling panels for commercial and residential applications, recently implemented a continuing education program for its sales team. As part of the program - known as ATAS SMARTS (Setting Myself Apart from Regular Territory Salespeople) - all ATAS sales team members completed Roofing 101, an online course offered by the National Roofing Contractors Association.

“Continuing education is extremely important because it ensures our employees are up to date on all industry knowledge, design and construction processes, documentation, codes and sustainable building trends,” said Jim Bush, vice president of sales for ATAS. “Because of the SMARTS program, the ATAS sales team will have the tools they need to perform their jobs better and fully serve their customers.”

The Roofing 101 course covers low-slope and steep-slope roofing, including topics such as design, installation, maintenance, safety, building code compliance and energy efficiency.

“We thought it was important for the sales team to start at the beginning, no matter their years of experience in the roofing industry, and progress together as they earn more credits for the SMARTS program,” Bush said.
