GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J., announces two new initiatives to help building owners extend the life of their roofs with preventative roof maintenance. CARE (the Center for Advancement of Roofing Excellence) worked with various experts in the industry to create Roofing Solutions Reference Guide for Specifiers and Property Managers. This 32-page reference booklet is a comprehensive guide on commercial roof maintenance for property owners. It can be used to help contractors earn a client's trust, leading to repair and maintenance assignments, and a significantly greater chance of being asked to provide a replacement roof when the need occurs. In addition, the Scheduled Maintenance Checklist manual is provided free with every GAF low-slope roof that includes an NDL (material and workmanship) guarantee. It serves as another reminder to property owners of what needs to be done - and provides a marketing opportunity for contractors to obtain a maintenance contract. This guide is packed with useful information, such as why roof maintenance is necessary, common causes of roof problems, what's typically included in guarantee coverage, what the building owner can do to protect the roofing system, and much more.
