Finance veteran joins company Oct. 5

Sims Crane & Equipment has named Katie MacGillivary chief financial officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026.
MacGillivary brings 25 years of financial leadership experience, including work involving acquisitions, strategic transactions, capital markets and an initial public offering. She most recently served as CFO of Channel Partners, where she led finance, accounting, payroll, tax, human resources and legal functions since 2019.
Previously, MacGillivary was CFO of Nicholas Financial, overseeing SEC reporting, investor relations and capital markets activities. She also held finance leadership positions at TECO Energy and began her career at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen.
“As Sims continues to grow and expand our operations, having the right leadership in place is critical,” said Deborah Weber, CEO and president of Sims Crane & Equipment.
MacGillivary is a certified public accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida. She is a 2026 Tampa Titan 100 honoree and was previously recognized as CFO of the Year in 2022.
Founded in 1959, Sims Crane provides crane, rigging and lifting services for construction and industrial projects across the Southeast.
