Lowe’s Invests $20M in Community Renovation Projects
Funding will support projects for nonprofits, schools and community organizations nationwide.
Lowe's today announced $10 million in Lowe's Community Impact Grants to fund large-scale projects for 100 nonprofit and community organizations with the goal of helping check off bucket-list renovation projects that strengthen hometowns.
Lowe’s is investing $20 million in renovation projects to improve community spaces and expand the capacity of nonprofit organizations across the country.
The home improvement retailer announced Aug. 11 that it will provide $10 million through its Lowe’s Community Impact Grants to fund large-scale projects for 100 nonprofit and community organizations. Another $10 million will support more than 2,000 projects led by Lowe’s associates nationwide.
The projects were selected from more than 5,000 nominations submitted through the Lowe’s Community Bucket List initiative. Planned renovations include improvements to food pantries, shelters, housing resources, outdoor spaces and facilities serving first responders and veterans.
Among the projects receiving support are a food distribution hub in Los Angeles; an expansion for 5th Squad, a veterans organization in Pearl, Miss.; and an accessible playground and outdoor learning center at Third Creek Elementary in Statesville, N.C. The 5th Squad project received a $200,000 grant.
The latest investment completes Lowe’s five-year, $100 million commitment through its Community Impact Program to renovate and restore community spaces across the U.S.
