Quarterly Report
AD Q1 Sales Jump 16%, Signaling Strong Construction Demand
Distributor buying group reports growth in electrical and PVF sectors, pointing to steady project pipelines and potential material cost pressure

AD (Affiliated Distributors), a member-owned buying group for independent distributors, reported a strong start to 2026, with member sales rising 16% to nearly $28 billion in the first quarter.
Same-store sales increased 10%, indicating solid organic demand across core markets. The U.S. Electrical and U.S. PVF (pipe, valves and fittings) divisions led performance, each posting 13% growth.
Purchasing activity accelerated, with member buys from AD suppliers up 28%, signaling increased project volume and inventory movement. Membership also expanded, with a net gain of 74 companies, largely driven by the integration of The Commonwealth Group. Existing members remained active on the acquisition front, completing nine intra-network deals and 14 external acquisitions.
For contractors and suppliers tied to interior finishes and MEP scopes, the gains point to sustained backlog and steady material flow. Continued consolidation and supplier engagement may influence pricing, availability and competitive positioning through 2026.
For roofing contractors, elevated PVF and electrical growth suggest strong upstream project starts, supporting near-term reroofing and new construction demand, but also potential cost pressure from broader material competition.
