Cornerstone Manager 2026 STEP Ahead Award
Wanda Duran of Cornerstone Building Brands is named a 2026 STEP Ahead Award winner, recognized for quality leadership, mentorship and workforce development efforts.

Wanda Duran, a quality and technology manager at Cornerstone Building Brands’ North Brunswick, N.J., facility, has been named a 2026 STEP Ahead Award recipient by the Manufacturing Institute.
The national program recognizes 145 women and allies in manufacturing each year for leadership, performance and community engagement. Duran was cited for her contributions to quality improvement, operational performance and mentoring efforts.
“Leaders like Wanda help ensure we’re building trust through performance,” said John Wallace, executive vice president of operational excellence at Cornerstone Building Brands.
Duran joined the company in 2013 and has led multiple quality initiatives, improving product reliability and plant performance. She also mentors students and supports STEM outreach, including events tied to Manufacturing Day and partnerships with Rutgers University and local schools.
“Whether I’m mentoring a colleague or guiding a student, my goal is always the same: to help others see what’s possible,” Duran said.
The Manufacturing Institute said the awards highlight leaders who are helping strengthen the future workforce and workplace culture in manufacturing.
Duran will be recognized at an awards gala April 23 in Washington, D.C.
