Four manufacturing facilities belonging to Cornerstone Building Brands have been recognized by the Metal Building Manufacturers Association for outstanding safety performance in 2024, with the Atwater, Calif., plant earning the #1 safety ranking in the nation among all participating pre-engineered metal building manufacturers.

The MBMA Safety Awards recognize manufacturing plants that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to workplace safety based on annual Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) statistics. Cornerstone Building Brands received awards in two distinct categories.

The 2024 Superior Safety Award is given to manufacturing facilities with zero recordable incidents in 2024. Only five facilities nationwide received this distinction. The Atwater, Calif., facility was honored with this prestigious award.

The 2024 Safety Performance Award is presented to manufacturing facilities that achieved an incident rate equal to 50% or less than the industry average as reported by OSHA. Cornerstone facilities that earned the award are:

  • Elizabethton, Tenn.
  • Fairview (Houston), Texas
  • Lexington, Tenn.

“These awards reflect the hard work and dedication of our teams across the country and our ongoing commitment to creating safe, productive work environments,” said Matt Ackley, president of Shelter Solutions at Cornerstone Building Brands. “To have four facilities rank in the top 10 nationally — including the #1 and #2 safest plants — is an incredible milestone and a testament to our continuous improvement in safety performance.”

The Atwater team, led by Plant Manager Doug Crouch, received special recognition for achieving a perfect safety record in 2024. MBMA General Manager Tony Bouquot personally presented the award during a visit to the company’s Fairview facility earlier this year.
