The Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock in Little Rock, Ark., recently received a new roof from local contractors, RoofConnect and Platinum Roofing, along with roofing manufacturer GAF.
Helping Hand's roof needed urgent repair due to severe weather damage and aging. Compromised structural integrity due to nails on the flat surface and leaks through ceiling tiles endangered stored items and compromised the facility's functionality.
In a GAF news release, the company, assisted by RoofConnect and Platinum Roofing, will undergo a roof replacement, enabling the organization to operate safely and smoothly. The project will be carried out in two phases, with the first half of the roof already completed and the second half set for completion this year.
The Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock is a vital community resource, serving as a food pantry and thrift store while providing medical supplies and financial assistance to many families in Central Arkansas.
“We are extremely grateful to RoofConnect, Platinum Roofing and GAF for their donation, which will allow us to continue providing essential services to the greater Little Rock area,” Gayle Priddy, executive director of Helping Hand, said. “Their support is a true testament to the power of community."
RoofConnect and Platinum Roofing are installing a new roof with materials donated by GAF. This collaboration supports GAF’s initiative, GAF Community Matters, which aims to positively impact the community through roofing expertise and resources, building resilient communities.

“It has always been important to us to give back to the community. When we heard about the need for a new roof at The Helping Hand, we knew we had to step in and help,” said Eric Harrison, vice president of Technical Services at RoofConnect.
“Donating a new roof for this project, alongside GAF and Platinum Roofing, was a way for us to show our commitment and gratitude to the people who have supported us over the years,” he added.
