FRISCO, Texas -- Roofing Contractor named the 2018 residential and commercial roofing contractors of the year at the 14th Best of Success conference.
Findlay Roofing, of Marietta, Ga., was named the Residential Contractor of Year, and Best Roofing, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., earned the award on the commercial side.
RC Editorial Director Rick Damato and Editor Art Aisner delivered the awards before a packed ballroom of more than 500 roofing professionals in attendance. Watch the announcements recorded live here.
Damato said Best Roofing was recognized not only for a successful year in business, but in how they prepared for, and reacted to Hurricane Irma last year.
“Best Roofing emerged as both a community and industry leader, and really stood out as a model that the entire roofing world can be proud of,” Damato said of how the Best team weathered the category 3 storm that became the costliest in Florida history.
"It's awesome, an awesome honor," Gregg Wallick, owner of Best Roofing, said after receiving the award. "I'm really honored to accept this award on behalf of all the people at Best Roofing. We have about 340 people today and they're just really awesome people."
Findlay was recognized for its continued commitment to the safety and well-being of its employees, high-quality workmanship and how they build relationships with their customers.
“It’s helped the company become the largest single-family residential roofing company in the state of Georgia,” Aisner said.
"This is an incredible honor," said Tony Wyss, vice president and COO, Findlay Roofing. "This is a really, really humbling award for us."
Wyss noted he was at Best of Success with his wife and that he is "just one piece of the pie."
"This is very much about our team, our people," he told the crowd.
