AIA CES Names Bilco Approved Continuing Education Provider

The Bilco Company was named a Continuing Education Systems (CES) registered provider by the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bilco Company was named a Continuing Education Systems (CES) registered provider by the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

The company’s first program for AIA and state credit focuses on the latest advances in Horizontal Access Doors, Fire Vents and Roof Hatches. Participation in the program is free of charge and earns industry professionals one AIA/CES learning unit.

Available to architects, designers, and other building professionals as an online self-study program, Bilco’s course can be accessed from the homepage of the company’s website, www.bilco.com. “Specialty access and venting systems can play an important role in commercial building’s design,” said Stephen Weyel, Advertising and Marketing Manager with Bilco. “The course, developed through the Company’s many years of experience in the design and manufacture of specialty access products, offers building professionals a convenient way to learn about these specialty products and their applications.”

Bilco’s program titled, “What’s New in Horizontal Access Doors, Fire Vents & Roof Hatches,” discusses the purposes and benefits of each of these specialty access systems; identifies the key features that architects and specifiers should look for in these products; and describes a series of new, performance-enhancing options. The course also includes a special case study section - presented in a “Voice-Over PowerPoint” format - that showcases a wide range of innovative door, fire vent and roof hatch applications from around the world.

For more than 80 years, The Bilco Company has been a building industry pioneer in the design and development of specialty access products. Over these years, the company has built a reputation among architects, specifiers, and contractors for products that are unequaled in design and workmanship.

Bilco - an ISO 9001 certified company - manufactures roof hatches, automatic fire vents, floor access doors, and a complete line of residential products that are designed to improve the look and function of basement areas. With headquarters in West Haven, Conn., Bilco has manufacturing facilities in Trumann, Ark., and Zanesville, Ohio, and an international network of sales offices, dealers, distributors, and representatives.
