Tesla reported some of its highest deployment numbers for its solar and energy storage products in the third quarter of 2022.

Tesla deployed 48 megawatts of solar in Q1 of this year, down by 44% from the previous quarter’s deployment of 85 megawatts.

Solar Roof deployments reportedly more than doubled year over year, but Tesla's solar installations have stagnated since the last quarter.

CEO Elon Musk said Tesla underestimated the complexity of roof installations for its Solar Roof, causing installation costs to rise for customers.

Tesla saw a major increase in the amount of solar it deployed in 2020, attributing it to new price models and improving the installation process of its Solar Roof.
