OSHA Fines Three Contractors Related to Fatal Fall at Florida Worksite
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is holding three construction contractors responsible for a 31-year-old workers' fatal fall while installing roof trusses.
According to the agency, on Aug. 17, 2022, the employee of Big Hammer LLC was installing roof trusses at a Tallahassee work site. The worker attempted to upright the truss after a crane released it, causing the laborer to fall 12 feet to the ground. They suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital where they died later that day.
