CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A roofing contractor in Salem, W.Va., received a sentence of 10 years imprisonment for defrauding customers out of more than $500,000.
According to a release from U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld, of the Northern District of West Virginia, Bradley Glaspell of Salem is the owner and operator of Over the Top Roofing LLC and Helping Hands Home Improvement. He falsely advertised his businesses on social media and claimed to be a licensed contractor when, in reality, he was unlicensed. He required payments in advance for materials but then failed to complete the work as promised and used the money for personal expenses.
