BATON ROUGE, La. — A Baton Rouge, La. roofing contractor who previously received citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) this year is facing consequences after an investigation into a 22-year-old worker’s deadly fall.
Inspectors with OSHA determined that Premier South Roofing LLC exposed six employees to fall hazards by failing to ensure required fall protection was used on April 2. According to a release, workers were repairing and replacing a roof in Baton Rouge when one of the roofers lost their footing, stepped on and fell about 30 feet through a skylight. The worker succumbed to their injuries later at a hospital.
