OSHA Proposes $1.2 Million in Penalties for New York Roofing Contractor Following Employee’s Fatal Fall
NEW YORK — A federal investigation into a fatal workplace injury is resulting in a proposed $1.2 million penalty for a roofing contractor in Setaukret, N.Y.
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), DME Construction Associates was working at a Town of Oyster Bay municipal building on Aug. 19, 2021 when one of its workers died after falling 18 feet through an unprotected skylight.
