U.S. Dept. of Labor Holds Safe + Sound Week on Aug. 12
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is asking businesses and organizations to recognize the importance of workplace safety during the nationwide Safe + Sound Week.
From Aug. 12-18, OSHA is encouraging employers to implement workplace safety initiatives and highlight contributions to improving safety made by workers. According to OSHA, those businesses that incorporate safety and health programs can help prevent injuries and illnesses, reduce workers’ compensation costs and improve productivity.
