Course Description
The process of correcting waterproofing errors after a project has been completed is almost always time-consuming and expensive. This session will define waterproofing and dampproofing and help architects, designers and building owners understand the fundamentals of waterproofing design. The course will cover the types of waterproofing systems commonly used, as well as the codes and standards they have to meet or exceed. Specific sections of the International Building Codes that pertain to waterproofing design will be explored in depth and their implications for waterproofing design will be illustrated.
