Chem Link Brings the Future of Roofing to International Roofing Expo

Highlighting the first roofing job using a Solvent Free Single Ply EPDM Adhesive, Chem Link will show International Roofing Expo attendees how commercial roofers now have a better way to install roofs with proven performance that will earn them leadership in the green building segment, a remaining bright spot in an otherwise dismal market.

LAS VEGAS - Highlighting the first roofing job using a Solvent Free Single Ply EPDM Adhesive, Chem Link will show International Roofing Expo attendees how commercial roofers now have a better way to install roofs with proven performance that will earn them leadership in the green building segment, a remaining bright spot in an otherwise dismal market.

Chem Link will show how the new EPDM adhesive provides superior performance, reduces installation time and costs - and exceeds all foreseeable environmental regulations with no “green penalty” worries.

“We believe this product begins the decline and eventual phase-out of solvent-laden adhesives that carry profound health risks, hazardous shipping and storage problems and heavy atmospheric pollution,” said Chem Link’s National Brand Manager, Dennis Kelley. “It has great appeal for use on school buildings and anyplace else that will not tolerate solvents and odors. We believe Solvent Free Single Ply EPDM Adhesive along with Solvent Free SBS Mod Bit Adhesive, developed in tandem and also being shown at IRE, will contribute significantly to roofing industry leadership in green building in the U.S. right along with the growth predicted in vegetative and photovoltaic roofs.”

The new roofing adhesives are the end result of years of R&D by Chem Link, a producer of adhesives and sealants based on polyether technology. “Chem Link has been dedicated to producing high performance and safe products for contractors for twenty years,” Kelley said. “This company has never manufactured or sold solvent-based products with their risks to health, or water-based products with their performance problems. Despite the recession that has hurt so many, there are multiple opportunities for contractors to demonstrate their expertise in green building. Chem Link’s high performance, solvent-free products can help them to do that. We believe that these new roofing adhesives will make life better for commercial roofing contractors.”
