CertainTeed Expands Availability of Mountain Ridge Hip and Ridge Accessory

Responding to the desire for more hip and ridge accessory color blend options in the North and South Central regions of the United States, CertainTeed recently expanded the availability of its popular Mountain Ridge High-Profile Hip and Ridge Accessory.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. - Responding to the desire for more hip and ridge accessory color blend options in the North and South Central regions of the United States, CertainTeed recently expanded the availability of its popular Mountain Ridge High-Profile Hip and Ridge Accessory.

Mountain Ridge blends with CertainTeed Landmark, Landmark TL, Presidential Shake and Presidential Shake TL shingles, as well as the colors of several other shingle products. Available in 10-inch widths and a vast range of colors, its tri-laminate base and rounded edge creates a high-profile, polished look while preventing sagging over time with each edge rounded for more substantial appeal.

“Our customers in the North Central and South Central part of the country desired a hip and ridge accessory with a complementary blended color, rather than the usual monotone accessory color which produces a striped look,” said Bob Gardiner, Vice President of Marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. “Mountain Ridge provides homes a perfect finishing touch of blended color with a high-profile design that creates a unified, dimensional look.”

Made with flexible, modified asphalt, Mountain Ridge is pre-formed to prevent cracking. It also features an 8-inch exposure and has a continuous adhesive strip for strong shingle-to-shingle bond for protection against rain and wind damage.

Underneath, a special release tape, factory-applied to Mountain Ridge, keeps shingles from sticking together. The five-layer design of Mountain Ridge is heavier than other hip and ridge accessories, keeping it securely attached to the roof and improving wind resistance.

Mountain Ridge comes in unique Saddle Box packaging that securely straddles hips and ridges within safe, trouble-free reach of the contractor. The box has a built-in handle designed to make it easy for roofers to carry up and down ladders and while on the roof. For more information, visit the newly redesigned certainteed.com.
