Firestone Building Products Company, LLC, a leading manufacturer and supplier of a comprehensive “Roots to Rooftops” product portfolio, introduced an all-inclusive guide to help customers navigate the best green products for LEED Version 4 requirements. The announcement occurred during the 2016 Greenbuild Conference and Expo in Los Angeles in October. Green building professionals in attendance could download the guide online while speaking with Firestone experts about it and upcoming projects.

Spanning the full portfolio of green products — from energy-saving polyiso insulations to reflective TPO membranes and vegetative roofing solutions — the guide specifies how Firestone products can help minimize environmental impact while maximizing building value. The guide will also contain a quick-reference page that can be separated for on-the-go access.

It’s the first time the company has created an all-inclusive resource for products that earn LEED credits. And it’s available at the right time.

When the U.S. Green Building Council announced the launch of LEED Version 4 in early 2016, building and design professionals called it the most comprehensive overhaul in the program’s 18-year history. Among other changes, the new LEED requirements emphasize performance-based measurements, energy efficient standards and demand more transparency from building materials.

“The guide will help inform our customers about the new qualifications, as well as provide assistance on specifying Firestone products that can earn the most LEED credits for a project,” said Lori Jones, product stewardship manager at Firestone Building Products. “Our company strives to be an environmental leader, from educating customers on the latest developments to creating products that integrate sustainability practices during material selection and throughout their lifecycles.”
