BELOIT, Wis. - Mike Balay has been named manager of building products distributor ABC Supply Co., Inc.’s branch at 1550 First State Blvd. in Stanton, Del.

Balay began his career with ABC in 2006, as an outside sales representative for the Stanton location and graduated from ABC’s Fundamentals of Branch Management program in 2013. In 2015 he was promoted to the regional staff as the business manager for new construction in the Northeast. The promotion to branch manager sees him return to the Stanton area, where he will oversee daily operations, and cultivate customer relationships. 

 

George Opferman was named branch manager at the companies’ 7590 Route 30 in North Huntingdon, Pa. location. 

 

Opferman brings to ABC 30 years of experience in the building materials industry.  He began his career at a distribution company in Pennsylvania, where he remained for 17 years. He has served as a territory manager and branch manager throughout the state of Pennsylvania in both the manufacturing and roofing industries.

 

As branch manager, he will build associate teams, oversee daily operations and maintain customer satisfaction.

 

Opferman is a Pennsylvania native and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Dony Portillo has been named branch manager at the 700 E. Lincoln Ave. in Rahway, N.J. location. 

 

Portillo has worked at ABC Supply’s location in Plainfield, N.J., for nearly 10 years, where he started working in the warehouse and quickly advanced to sales and customer service. He graduated from ABC’s Fundamentals of Branch Management program and played an important role in the integration of the Standard Roofing locations into ABC. ABC acquired Standard Roofing in 2014.

 

As branch manager, Portillo will manage daily operations and oversee growth.

 

Bill Froehlich has been named branch manager of ABC Supply Co., Inc.’s Madison, Wis., location on 3480 Millpond Road. 

 

The new position gives Froehlich, a construction professional with over 19 years of industry experience, a prominent leadership role at ABC Supply, the nation’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing. Prior to joining the company, Froehlich worked for Norandex as an outside sales representative. When ABC Supply acquired Norandex in 2015, Froehlich transitioned into a more prominent leadership position at the company’s Madison location.

 

His new responsibilities will include leading and developing associates to provide contractors with the solutions they need to run their businesses.
