ABC Supply Co., Inc. Announces the Promotion of two Employees

BELOIT, Wis. – John Simonelli has been promoted to vice president of Strategic Initiatives of ABC Supply Co., Inc.
In his new role, Simonelli will focus on identifying, exploring and pursuing key areas of opportunity for growth, expansion and strategic advancement for ABC, on both the national and international levels.
“John has done a tremendous job leading the West for the past decade, and he is the right person for this exciting and challenging new role,” said President/CEO Keith Rozolis. “He'll also be working closely with his successor in the West to ensure a smooth transition for our associates, customers, and suppliers.”
Simonelli joined ABC Supply in 1988 as manager of the Bellville, Ill., location. While holding several branch and district management positions, his locations saw numerous accolades, including regional “Center of the Year” and national “Center of the Year” honors. He was promoted to manager of the Rocky Mountain Region in 1997 and named West Region vice president in 2005.
Prior to joining ABC, Simonelli held multiple positions in strategic warehouse planning operations and distribution center management for firms including Michael Walters and Domino’s Pizza.
He is a native of Massachusetts and graduated from Brown University in Providence, R.I.
The other promotion, is Matt Cooper who was promoted to Vice President of ABC Supply’s West Region. In addition to Hawaii, the territory includes nine Western states and has a total of 61 ABC locations.
“Matt represents the heart and soul of ABC,” said President/CEO Keith Rozolis. “I am excited to have Matt return to our West Region and am confident that our associates and customers are in excellent hands.”
Cooper joined ABC in 1991 as a roof stocker at the company’s San Marcos, Calif. location after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, which included a deployment in the first Gulf War. After earning his CDL, he went to the company’s West Chicago location, where he worked in dispatching, inside sales and purchasing. He would eventually serve as branch manager for both the Muskegon and Grand Rapids locations in Michigan before being named Chicago district manager in 2000.
Over the course of his career, Matt has been named Manager of the Year and District Manager of the year. He also played a key role in many of ABC’s key service initiatives, including the team that developed its Customer Service Delivery System (CSDS).
As West Region vice president, Cooper will be responsible for the overall management of the region’s performance.
