The polyurethanes industry, working together through the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) and the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), has launched an enhanced product stewardship program to support further understanding of the benefits of spray polyurethane foam and its continued safe use and handling.

ARLINGTON, Va. - The polyurethanes industry, working together through the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) and the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), has launched an enhanced product stewardship program to support further understanding of the benefits of spray polyurethane foam and its continued safe use and handling.

As part of this outreach, a new Spray Polyurethane Foam Health and Safety Web site,www.spraypolyurethane.com, has been launched by CPI and SPFA that contains new materials, literature and posters to increase understanding of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) product stewardship information.

“We believe the timing of this program could not be better with the growing popularity of spray polyurethane foam as a solution for more energy efficient homes and buildings,” said Neeva-Gayle Candelori, Director, ACC Center for the Polyurethanes Industry. Kurt Riesenberg, Executive Director, Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance, said, “As the use of spray polyurethane foam continues to increase over the coming decades, it is critical for the spray polyurethane foam industry to continually enhance its product stewardship information and outreach efforts.”

In the coming weeks, CPI and SPFA will introduce additional informational materials and programs through a nationwide outreach program to raise awareness among those working with or around spray polyurethane foam products.

According to the organizations, visitors to the new Web site will find information and can download literature covering a wide range of topics including an overview of SPF health and safety guidelines, information on personal protective equipment, typical first-aid approaches, regulations and information about green marketing.

In addition, you can also find valuable information about the many uses and benefits of spray polyurethane foam and use and handling guidelines on the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) website atwww.sprayfoam.org.
