GAF has been presented with the Gold Remi Award for "Race to Be Safe."

GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J., has been presented with the Gold Remi Award from the WorldFest International Film Society for its roofing safety video "Race to Be Safe," which was a combined project with the Indy Racing League, CARE and the NRCA. The video was nominated and won the gold in the Film/Video/Television and Cable Production Category, and was presented at the WorldFest Awards Dinner in Houston on April 24th. WorldFest International was founded 43 years ago as a competitive international film festival, and is one of the oldest and largest film and video competitions in the world, with more than 4,300 category entries received from 37 countries in 2004.

The "Race To Be Safe" video was a joint effort by GAF, CARE, the Indy Racing League and the NRCA in response to one of the toughest problems facing roofing contractors today: the high cost of insurance and the inability to get insurance or renew existing policies. The video highlights the importance of safety in both the racing profession and in the roofing profession by combining the thrilling elements of Indy car racing with the serious elements of safety training.
