Damato of the Day Is… “Now It’s Government Self-Interference”
Swore I would quit whining about the antics of our federal government and get back to more topical roofing issues but the hits just keep on coming.

Damato of the Day Is … “Stay Out of the Sales Business (Government Interference Part III)”
I was not going to do this. Rant about the government, that is. But they just will not stop, so what else can I do?

Damato of the Day Is … “Government Interference Part II”
Well the party is over (for now) with the $8,000 new-homebuyer credit. Many expect the small burst in new-home construction will drop and we will return to the doldrums. I do not think so.

Damato of the Day Is … “The Kind of Government Interference We Really Need”
I was delighted to come across a YouTube video of Chad Collins testifying before a Congressional committee looking into the Green Roofing Energy Efficiency Tax Act of 2009 (GREETA).

Damato of the Day Is … “I Love Change”
I really do. I love change. It makes my writing job so easy. Getting words structured into proper sentences and spelling words right is not much of a challenge when you have spell checker along with talented and educated editors fixing everything you mess up (thanks, y’all).

Damato of the Day Is … “Time for a Little Irony”
For the two of you (hi Mom!) who are regular readers of this Blog, I will begin this one by apologizing for the long absence. For some reason I was hit with a world-class case of spring fever this year. Was it me or was that the longest and coldest winter in recent memory?

Damato of the Day is “Glad to be Heading Home”
| February 25, 2010 – from 33,000 feet On a slightly-delayed flight back to Atlanta from the 2010 hometown of the International Roofing Expo(IRE), New Orleans, Louisiana.

Damato of the Day Is … “I Can Hardly Wait”
This time next week I will be packing it up and heading to New Orleans for the NRCA Convention and the International Roofing Expo. After over 35 years of these things you would think I might be tired of them, but I am just as excited this time as I was in 1974 when Julien (the late Julien P. Benjamin Jr.) footed the bill for me to attend my first roofing convention.

Damato of the Day Is … “Responding to Unimaginable Loss”
The
figures are staggering. The loss of life. Families and lives torn apart. And
all in a country where pain and suffering never seem to cease. Our hearts go
out to the people of Haiti.
Or should I call them “the survivors”?

Damato of the Day Is… “Who Dat? Who Else?!”
Leave it to the endlessly greedy NFL owners to pass on a great PR opportunity in favor of once again being perceived as a bunch of greedy bastards.

Damato of the Day Is… “Guess it Was Just Our Turn”
I could have titled this blog entry “The Friday From Hell,” but in spite of some nastiness it did not turn out all bad. Things started to go downhill as I was getting dressed for work and received a call from my office manager informing me that we were broken into around 4 a.m.

Damato of the Day Is… “The Goobers in Control Are Out of Control”
I do realize it is probably best that I stay away from politics in this blog, the same way as I try to avoid it in my daily life. Don’t get me wrong — I do not miss a chance to vote and support the things I feel are very important.

Damato of the Day Is… “Goodbye, 2009”
The lovely and talented Kay, queen of my life, likes to say, “Life is like a roll of toilet paper. It goes away faster as it gets closer to the end.” Well, guess my age is showing because 2009 just went by in what seemed like a flash.

Damato of the Day Is … “The Long Journey Home”
While
I have made it a practice to make an entry to this blog every week, there have
been none since the week before leaving on a journey to Vietnam and China.
